How to Be Pretty & Popular

Step1

Assess your current look. Look at yourself with a critical eye to decide which qualities could be improved. Take the time to create a list of beautification goals. Create a personal regimen that includes your current goals. For example, add aerobic exercise to your weekly schedule to help you lose weight if you desire. Attaining popular status often means appealing to the broadest range of people possible. Take this into account when crafting your new image.

Step2
Dress to impress. Wear clothing that is both flattering to your body type and personal taste. Use popular celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Reese Witherspoon as guides as you search for the perfect look. Pay attention to reactions as you transform your image and adjust your look accordingly. Appearance is important when attempting to win over potential supporters. Find the balance between looking great and trying too hard.

Step3
Demonstrate your inner beauty. Show the world that you’re more than just a pretty face. Let others see that you’re not defined by your beauty. Do volunteer work or community service to help yourself stay grounded. While beauty will fade with time, a kind heart can last a lifetime. Since many pretty people are self centered, use your inner beauty to set you apart from the crowd of pretty faces.

Step4
Play up your other qualities. While beauty may be an important part of your arsenal, it shouldn’t be your only weapon. Show the world something besides your pretty face. Use your academic or athletic abilities to help gain positive attention from your peers. Let your poetry speak volumes about your inner nature. Attract a healthy following by refusing to be defined by your beauty alone.

Step5
Mingle with the masses. The more people you have in your corner, the better chance you have at becoming popular. Avoid distancing yourself from “commoners” or people that don’t live up to your beauty ideals. While everyone should have a steady group of friends, don’t let your friends limit your popularity by isolating you from the masses. Invite a wide range of people to your parties and attend their events with a smile. This will show that you don’t think you’re better than everyone else.

Step6
Stay pretty. This applies to your inner beauty even more than your outer beauty. Your pretty face doesn’t make you immune to rude comments or teasing. Pretty people often find themselves targets because of peer jealousy. Surround yourself with positive people and activities to avoid becoming angry or depressed. Rise above negative comments to demonstrate your maturity. Never sink to the level of name callers and gossipers.

Step7
Shatter the stereotype. Although movies like Mean Girls show pretty, popular girls being insensitive and rude to others, you don’t have to fit into this stereotype. True popularity isn’t gained by demeaning or harassing other people. Offer your friendship and good advice to those in need to boost your popularity. Try to be the life of the party whether you’re in class or at the mall. You’re more likely to become popular if people like you and enjoy your presence.
